DEMAND FOR FUSIONSTORM TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS IN SOUTHWEST LEADS TO BAKERSFIELD OFFICE
FusionStorm Invests in Meeting Needs of California’s Public Sector
Bakersfield, CA – March 6, 2009 – FusionStorm – "Making Technology Work" – a leading systems integrator and managed service provider, announced today that it has opened a new office in Bakersfield, CA , 90 miles north of Los Angeles, to develop the rapidly growing public sector market in that area. The targeted market includes the $900 million California K-12 educational ERATE segment, and the central and southern California public sector. (ERATE is a federal program designed to ensure that all eligible schools and libraries have affordable access to modern telecommunications and information services.)
“There is a need that must be filled in southern and central California, and FusionStorm is ready to accommodate it,” said FusionStorm CEO John Varel. “Our customer base has grown tremendously and because of that, we’ve been adding more engineering talent, and increasing our support and sales staff.”
The new office will feature an executive briefing center, a conference center and a collaboration center for meetings and planning sessions, partner areas with internet access and phones, and easy access to parking. Grand opening tours for the local business community and press are scheduled in the coming weeks.
Rhonda Eiffe, regional director for the southwest region, said, “It’s about commitment. FusionStorm’s investment in this office demonstrates our commitment to serving our current and future clients in the greater Los Angeles area and in the Central Valley. As a trusted technology solutions provider, we take pride in delivering local sales support and engineering resources, and we know that our clients and partners appreciate that.”
FusionStorm’s southern California footprint now includes offices in Irvine, San Diego, Glendale and Bakersfield. The company also aims to develop the federal public sector marketplace in the area. Kern County is home to Edwards Air Force Base, China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station, NASA’s Dryden Flight Center and Mojave Spaceport, and dozens of defense contractors.
FusionStorm is currently scheduling a series of solution seminars that will be held in Bakersfield. The first one will include managed services, virtualization and data center concepts and will be held in late March.
The office opened on February 20, 2009.
