FUSIONSTORM ACQUIRES ASSETS OF GLOBAL NETOPTEX, INC (GNi)
Acquisition Adds Significant Dedicated Hosting Customers in the Massively Multiplayer Online Gaming
(MMOG), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Web 2.0 Markets, and U.S. and European Hosting Operations
San Francisco, CA – April 14th, 2010 — FusionStorm — "Making Technology Work" — a leading national provider of IT consulting, technology solutions and managed services, announced today that it has acquired certain assets of GNi of San Jose, CA, including 115 customers and additional hosting presence in the U.S. and Europe. As part of the transaction, GNi CEO Alan “Al” Etterman will join FusionStorm as President of FusionStorm’s Managed Services Division.
John Varel, CEO of FusionStorm, stated, “The GNi transaction brings some great new customers into the FusionStorm family and gives us a strong foothold in the growing multi-player online gaming and software-as-a-service markets. It also provides us with a hosting presence in Europe, which is important to many of our customers and strategic to our growth.”
GNi, which was founded in 2002, provides Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions to leading companies in the massively multiplayer online gaming, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Web 2.0, and digital media markets. FusionStorm will provide GNi customers with access to a broad range of value-added managed services including cloud computing, cloud storage, advanced data protection, business continuity, database administration, application management and managed security services.
A 25-year veteran of the technology industry, Etterman has a proven ability to grow organizations, drive sales and generate revenue. Previous to GNi, Etterman was the executive vice president and chief administrative officer at JDSU, a diversified technology company. Prior to JDSU, he was the senior vice president of corporate infrastructure and chief information officer at Openwave Systems. From 1993 to 2001, Etterman held leadership positions at Cisco Systems where he served as the senior director of global communications and technology services.
According to Etterman, “We are excited about the opportunity to grow the managed services and cloud computing business at FusionStorm. The combination of the two service teams creates a world class platform to allow for expanded offerings on a worldwide basis.”

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
