Engineering and logistics services for rapid roll-out of customized solutions.
FusionStorm’s Integration Center embodies the concept of IT Delivered. This state-of-the-art warehouse facility, staffed by engineering and logistics specialists, provides assembly, configuration, testing, inventory management and shipping services for customers who need an alternative to traditional on-site implementation processes. Rather than receiving equipment from the manufacturer to be installed, configured and integrated on site by FusionStorm’s Professional Services Group, customers can have FusionStorm’s Integration Center team ship customized technology solutions for plug-and-play installation anywhere in the world.
FusionStorm’s Integration Center services are ideal for any project in which timing and logistics are critical to success:
• Construction sites, where equipment must be ready to install amid rapidly changing work schedules.
• Operating retail, manufacturing and other facilities that cannot afford downtime for upgrades and new implementations.
• Repetitive deployments, in which organizations need standardized equipment implemented in multiple locations.
Located in San Jose, Calif., the FusionStorm Integration Center has a total of 30,000 square feet featuring thousands of square feet of raised-floor data center set up in wide aisles to accommodate pallets of gear. The raised-floor area provides the necessary power and cooling to support the burn-in, configuration and testing of large amounts of equipment. An average of 1,000 parts totaling $300,000 in cost of goods sold flow through the Integration Center each day.
The Integration Center staging team includes certified engineers and technicians who are expert in a wide range of technologies, from servers and desktops to network devices, UPSs, audio/video equipment, and more. FusionStorm regularly maintains a dozen benches in its staging area but can quickly double engineering capacity to meet customer demands.
The logistics team specializes in receiving, warehousing, inventory management, picking, packing, shipping, documentation and returns. Team members have extensive experience working through customs in 17 countries around the world, handling the paperwork and advising customers of expected arrival dates for various destinations.
FusionStorm’s Integration Center in Action
An Integration Center project begins with a bill of materials cataloging every piece and part in a particular order (down to screws, brackets and cables), and configuration specifications from either the customer or FusionStorm’s Professional Services Group working in consultation with the customer. Equipment is procured and shipped directly to the Integration Center if it’s not carried in inventory, and a project timeline is developed based upon the customer’s schedule and ship-to locations. Once the equipment arrives, the staging team takes over, assembling components, applying asset tags, recording serial numbers and handling other details.
FusionStorm offers an array of Integration Center services to meet various customer requirements:
• Equipment burn-in for customer-specified time periods
• Standardized firmware updates and software imaging
• Configuration
• Testing
• Documentation
• Replacement of failed equipment
